WOBURN MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL

“Woburn expects excellence in education”

SUMMER READING

All Woburn Memorial High School students are required to read at least one book for their English class. Honors students are required to read at least two. There will be a reading assessment given in English class during the first two weeks of school. Also, the students will be expected to participate in a formal discussion of their book. Therefore we suggest

that students keep notes as a foundation for their assessment. Students may be expected to answer questions concerning characters, setting, conflicts, themes, point of view, author’s style of writing, significance of title and opinion of book. The assessment will count as 10% of the term one English grade.
