It is important for students to remember the following:
Students must be appropriately dressed for Graduation as well as the Honors and Scholarship Assemblies. Appropriate dress is shirt, tie, pants, socks, and shoes for boys. Shorts and sneakers will not be permitted. Girls should wear dresses or pant suits. Again, sneakers and shorts will not be permitted. Students who are not appropriately dressed will be sent home to change prior to the ceremony. We certainly do not want to send anyone home so it is very important that students understand what is expected of them.
Students must be on time for the Honors and Scholarship Award Assemblies and Graduation.
School drug and alcohol policies are in force all through the graduation period. Students must be very aware of their responsibilities and not put themselves, their parents or the school in any situation where they might be suspended and not allowed to graduate or participate in the graduation ceremony.
It is crucial that seniors clearly understand their academic requirements and meet all of them. Parents or students with any question relative to graduation should meet promptly with their guidance counselor for clarification.
Students must satisfy all obligations to the school prior to graduation. Obligations may be imposed for violations of the code of discipline, incomplete course work, outstanding text and library books, athletic equipment, physical education locks or any other property of the school. It also includes failure to pay for lost books, library book fines, missing equipment or FAILURE TO TAKE FINAL EXAMINATIONS.
Seniors who have an A- or better average for the year in a half-year or full-year course and have an A- or better average for the fourth quarter are not required to take final examinations in those subjects. If students have any questions, they should speak with their teachers. STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO TAKE FINAL EXAMS CANNOT PASS THE CLASS.
ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 21 AND THURSDAY, MAY 22, SENIORS MUST AVOID BUILDING C WHERE MCAS TESTING IS TAKING PLACE.
We all look forward to a safe graduation and extend our best wishes to the Class of 2008. |
