Applications for the John O'Brien Scholarship are available in the Guidance Office.

 

There will be a baseball meeting today, March 9, for all players interested in trying out for baseball.  Everyone must attend even if you attended the meeting in the fall.  The meeting will last 15 minutes.  If you have any questions please see Coach Pandolph in Room E422.

 

There will be a brief meeting for all girls who are interested in playing tennis this spring immediately after school today, March 9, in Coach Sullivan's room, D216.

 

There will be a meeting, for any girls who are interested in playing softball, after school on Thursday, March 11, in the cafeteria.  Tryouts will start on Monday, March 15; you must have a physical and a permission slip to try out.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Sanders in Room E406.

 

There will be a Spectrum meeting after school on Monday, March 15 in the main office conference room.  We will be discussing the day of silence.  All members should make an effort to attend.

 

All tenth grade students are reminded to bring in their glasses to the nurse's office when they are called down to have their vision tested.

 

Tickets for the March 12, Freshmen Dance are on sale for $10.00 in the lobby during lunch.  Tickets must be purchased during school as there are no tickets sold at the door.  Freshmen Activities Committee members must see Mr. Suchecki for a pass to decorate for the dance.

 

There will be a brief LEARN general member meeting today, March 9, after school in the cafeteria for sign-up for the Grade 8 Presentation and nominations for next year's Core Committee.

 

LEARN's Parent Forum is scheduled tonight, March 9, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., in the Flaherty Auditorium and the School Wide Assembly is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10, during periods three and four.  Classes will be called down to the auditorium by announcement.

 

There will be a mandatory meeting for all boys who are interested in playing football in the fall, on Thursday, March 11, in the gymnastics room.  Attendance will be taken.

 

There will be a meeting with all Student Council homeroom representatives at the beginning of Period 7 on Thursday March 11, in the senior cafeteria.  All representatives should attend. Representatives will be given a pass to their Period 7 classes.

 

There will be a meeting for Student Council after school on Thursday, March 11, in Mr. Seitz room C413.

 

There will be an important meeting of the Boy’s Tennis Team on Wednesday, March 10, immediately after school in the senior cafeteria.  New members are welcome.

 

Members of the Dating Violence Task Team are asked to see Mrs. Baccari before Wednesday, March 10, for an information update.

 

The Theater Tech Crew is looking for new members.  Underclassmen are strongly encouraged to join.  Students in the Tech Crew learn to use professional lighting, audio equipment, and they learn technical theater production.  Most of the learning is hands on and fun.  No experience is needed.  Sign-up sheets are posted outside of Room D305 or by contacting Mr. Hayes.  The training will begin on Monday, March 15.

 

The Class of 2010 is sponsoring the 1st Annual Woburn High School March Madness Tournament, March 24 -26.  Sign -ups will begin on Monday, March 8.  You can pick up the sign up sheets at the candy table during period 5.  The tournament is open to staff and students.  Teams of 4: must have at least one female and only one member of the high school basketball teams.  The cost is $28.00 per team.  Please see Mrs. Curran with any questions!

 

Juniors ~ Be part of your school's award winning yearbook!  Any junior interested in being on the Yearbook 2011 staff should attend an informational meeting right after school on Thursday, March 11, in Mrs. Thifault's room, D125.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Getherall or Mrs. Thifault.

 

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems is putting on a course on real-life negotiation skills for high school students.  The course is open to juniors and seniors; a meeting is on Friday, March 12, in Mr. Shukan’s room, D417 at 2:05 pm.

 

The SRO Program is offering a “R.A.D. Class” for SENIOR Girls. Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. R.A.D. is not a Martial Arts program. Cost of the class is $20.00. Please see SRO Fumicello to obtain the necessary paperwork and register for the class. Classes start March 16 - 18, from 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. and March 20, for the physical test.

 

The American Legion is once again sponsoring Girls and Boys State, a week long leadership program held in June.  Any junior who would like to participate in Girls or Boys State may sign up in the main office.

 

There will be a meeting for all of the varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen girls' basketball players in

Mr. Sullivan's room, D216, immediately after school on Wednesday, March 10.  Please bring all uniforms with you as they will be collected at the meeting.
